THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE :: OVULATION
Yep, this is 'Periods 101' because knowledge is POWER + lady landscape knowledge is the very best kind of power.
THE SCIENCE BIT: feeling frisky? Feeling super-attractive and that your hair is doing what it should? You've got ovulation to thank for that. Once the rising levels of estrogen in your body reach a certain point, it causes other hormones (LH and FSH) to rise, and as a result, ovulation occurs.
Most people think that ovulation happens on day 14, but this is not the case for most women. If you use Daysy, it will be able to work with your cycle to let you know EXACTLY when you're ovulating. (It'll flash up red when you're ovulating, she's smart like that.) That way if you want a baby, you can have amazing baby-making sex, and if you don't, you can use barrier methods, til Daysy gives you the green light. Literally.
If the egg is NOT fertilized by sperm, the egg disintegrates within 24 hours. (But remember sperm can live up to five days inside you, that's why Daysy creates a safety buffer, just to make sure!) Every day's a school day here at @daysyuk - When you know your cycle, you start to love your body and the experience of being a woman in a whole new way!
